Super cool folded tags for mason jars. Awesome idea to add a personal touch for a mason jar favor/drinking glass.
We had a blast designing this invitation. It was actually the first concept for one of our brides who ended up going with something a bit different. But that didn’t stop us from completing the design and making some mock ups to share with you lovely people.
We have endearingly called it “Goat Life”. Of course, the goats can be interchanged with other silhouettes as well. We understand that not everyone is a goat person… most are, but not all.
Cheaper Isn’t Always Better.
Happy Friday, everyone!
We are starting to see an “epidemic” unfolding before us here at ChikPea and just thought we would share what we’ve learned from it.
This said “epidemic” involves some unfortunate brides that have placed orders for their wedding invitations on various online mega marketplaces. Upon receiving their invitations in the mail, which they are no doubt so excited to see and send out to their potential guests, they realize that they are either
A) Poorly printed
B) Poor quality paper (and I mean paper, not card stock)
C) and I quote “absolutely hideous and wouldn’t send them to my worst enemy…)
Or even, dare I say, all of the above. Fortunately, life hasn’t completely jaded me to where my first impulse would be to say “I told you so.” I feel awful for these lovely people, and wonder to myself: When did it become OK to send out sub par work?
Well, the answer is never. What’s even worse is I’m sure these brides will never receive a refund or even a reply to their complaints. Now, I’m not saying never order your invitations online, and only order them from me. All I hope for people to get out of this is this: before placing an order for 100 sets of invitations for your wedding from www.terribleweddinginvitations.com see if there is a way to receive a printed sample prior to placing your order. If they don’t offer samples, there’s your red flag. Once you have a sample and you’re happy with it, if they send you anything less than the quality of the sample, you at least have a leg to stand on when you argue your case.
If this saves just one bride or groom from living the nightmare of receiving a really expensive box of kindling… I shall consider this successful. Cheaper isn’t always better (unless you’re buying paper towels at costco… can’t beat that.)
That is all.
With about 19 million birthdays today we wish you all to be FOREVER YOUNG! #Foreveryoung #lemonkeyhouse #bobdylan #art #instagood #graphicdesign
Rustic, Stylish Wedding Invitation Suite
Thanks to the lovely bride for sending me these beautiful photos that had her talented sister-in-law, Ashley Lawrence, had taken for her.
They came out great and we’re pretty have with the design and color choices. Crystal was going for a rustic, but somewhat elegant sort of look. So not TOO rustic. I think we found a good medium ground with these layered invites. Light gray backer, with a natural white textured top card with medium gray and raspberry ink. We even worked in a silhouette of her statuesque german shepherd.
